When to visit
Endless sunshine seems to be order of the day across the whole of Portugal in summer, certainly between June and September. In July and August the coastal resorts are at their busiest and prices are at their peak. It’s too hot at this time to do any serious sightseeing or hiking. Its best to come in May and October if you plan on exploring the the cities, towns and archaeological sites. Most of the rain falls in winter between November and March. In spring, dazzling flowers carpet the hillsides and almond blossoms light up the countryside. October enjoys warm weather without it being too hot and the sea is still warm too.
